We are currently seeking an experienced self–starter with a passion for general and preventative maintenance. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the optimal utilization of our Bridgehead facilities while assessing and evaluating the physical space requirements of the organization with recommendations to meet needs. You will bring the right skills to support with preventative maintenance and have a high aptitude for learning new skills on the job while supporting all areas of the business working closely with our retail teams.
What You'll Be Doing:

- Perform general maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and installations (painting, shelving, locks).
- Coordinate regular property upkeep such as vehicle maintenance, HVAC services, equipment checks, and landscaping.
- Inspect exterior areas and report findings to the manager.
- Manage work requests, estimate time/materials for repairs, and order supplies.
- Assist with furniture assembly, relocations, and workspace cleanouts.
- Support construction, renovations, and new coffeehouse setups.
- Respond quickly to emergencies and technical service requests.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on mechanical/electrical systems.
- Implement and schedule preventative maintenance for coffeehouses.
- Maintain and repair espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment.
- Support the Director of Retail with progress updates and administrative tasks.
- Install new coffeehouse equipment and coordinate repairs for satellites.
- Purchase items in line with company policy and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide general administrative support, including document preparation, inventory management, and other tasks as needed.
Hours:
- Hours vary based on business needs.
- Occasional weekend work for maintenance and special projects.
Skills & Experience:
- 3-5 years of technical/equipment experience.
- Specialized skills in electrical, mechanical, and welding required.
- Previous experience with specialty coffee equipment preferred.
- Trades certification in plumbing/electrical is a plus.
- Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma with technical training is an asset.
- Good computer skills, including Google Suite.
- Knowledge of WHMIS, Food Safety, and Health & Safety practices is an asset.
Work Conditions:
- Regular use of a company vehicle in Ottawa and to vendor locations.
- Occasional travel to Toronto and other parts of Canada.
