For over 40 years, Bridgehead has been sourcing and supporting a family of small-scale, sustainable farmers around the world. Today, we have 17 locations across Ottawa and employ over 300 team members. Bridgehead is recognized and respected as a leader in bringing approachable, responsibly sourced, high scoring coffee to Canadians.
We were the first to bring Fairtrade coffee to Ottawa coffeehouses and continue to be a place where you can enjoy an exceptional cup of coffee, directly sourced from global producers. Locally, Bridgehead supports hundreds of neighborhood organizations every year, including in-kind donations of coffee, tea, gift baskets and gift cards.

Position: Barista
Location: 344 Slater St. Ottawa ON Canada K1R 7Y3
Starting Pay: $17.60 per hour

Requirements:
Experience in Customer Service is considered an asset
Established professional, empathetic, and engaged customer service model
Team player
Comfortable with multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks
Verified record of punctuality/attendance and time management
Physical Requirements:
Physically fit to stand, walk, bend, twist and lift up to 30 kg, and to work at counter height for up to an 8-hour shift
Constant computer, POS, and bar equipment use at counter height
Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing and/or rotation of the wrist and spine
Efficient oral communication, receiving, interpreting, and providing detailed information to customers and employees
Clarity of vision at near and/or far distance
Occasionally be able to accurately distinguish and describe flavors and odours.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and carry out instructions delivered both orally and in written format – and request clarification if necessary
Ability to work as part of a diverse team
Positive attitude with a consistent display of professionalism
Ability to acquire and maintain relationships
Accountability for own action and success
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous coffeehouse or customer service experience
Safe food handling certificate
Knowledge and/or love of coffee and tea
Commitment to fair and sustainable trade
Creativity, humour and diverse life experience
